Seven days of captured moments

I thought I’d do something a little different on my blog.

Some friends of mine on Facebook started this little photo challenge. Seven days, seven black and white photos of my life. No people, no explanations.

Then you get to nominate someone else every day to take the challenge. It’s quite fun and if you’re like me and get excited about photography and love taking photos then this is a great little interruption into your schedule.

An interruption to stop, focus and capture a moment. Life is all about moments and cameras and pictures have the ability to capture and express things that we cannot express in words or any other way.

Photography is a passion of mine. I miss it so much. When I had my own camera, I used to pick up my camera, put on my walking shoes and go out for a whole day or a few hours and just take photos. I miss doing that as I no longer have my own camera.

I would hold my camera and look through the lens at everything. I’d look at everything differently, my focus was different. I’d look at angles, colours, change the focus, reposition myself then afterwards I got to upload the pictures onto my laptop,  look at the pictures that I had captured and edit them. It is as addictive as playing candy crush or watching your favourite TV series.

Photos tell stories, they even tell a thousand words.

So I thought I’d share my 7 day challenge with you starting today. I invite you to do the same also. For this challenge as I don’t have a camera of my own anymore (or yet), I have sufficed to using my iPhone camera which will do for now.

I hope you can join me.
