Harry & Meghan’s wedding

What I learnt from Harry and Megs wedding: I did not hear the amazing preaching of the priest but I heard it was on fire.

I never read tabloid magazines or follow the news on what celebrities are doing unless they pop up on my news feed lately it’s been celebrities coming to Christ or doing charitable deeds in the world. I don’t follow the royal family affairs, I let them be and respect their privacy by not reading gossip about them. I was however very intrigued when I heard Harry was dating Megan because I have seen her face before and I knew she was ethnic.

True love is not a respecter of the past, the future, race, ethnicity, faiths, beliefs or skin tone. True love has no boundaries. True love often breaks the very boundaries of customs and traditions by bringing people together, it can bring people together who would not normally associate with one another.

Love is creative, love has no boundaries, only the boundaries that we place upon it. Love cannot be contained or restrained. Love will always endure. Love is a verb, it must be expressed, it must be put into action.

The wedding was not about black and white, I could say it was a proud moment in black history but no because it’s not about colour, it’s a proud moment in history to see two people who against what seemed all odds break the boundaries of tradition and criticism and make a lifelong commitment to one another. I know Prince Harry would have taken this very seriously and thought about what he was doing. I respect him for that, for standing up and being a man.

It was indeed a beautiful ceremony and moment in history for the whole world to behold.

I’m sure it’s the most anticipated and will be the most talked about wedding for a long time because it was a sign of times to come and what’s happening in our world today. Unity, change, the old things passing away and everything becoming new.

To the people who’ve criticised the wedding and made it clear to state they don’t give two cents about the wedding, all good, I don’t judge but you missed out on celebrating unity, love and happiness and an awesome moment in history.

And so looking forward to seeing how they impact the world with their humanitarian work and charities. So glad Harry met a woman who shares a passion for helping others.

May they live happily ever after!!!

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day yesterday:

Sometimes I hate Mother’s Day because I miss my mum and I feel as though sometimes I am motherless. My Aussie mum isn’t the mother I need her to be and is just not around and never calls to say hi or see how I’m going even though we live 20 minutes apart. Not even a visit at my house to have a cup of tea or just chat…God knows how much that would mean the world to me. It’s so hard to love her, but I do because she’s been there for me when I’ve hit rock bottom (sometimes). She’s just always been the one that’s been mostly constant. She’s taught me many wonderful and great things but we are miles apart from each other. I still have to honour her and I’m grateful for her in my life.

This is my favourite pic of my beautiful PNG mother and Callum days after he was born. Mum came over from PNG and delivered Callum on my bed in Hamilton Hill. She’s amazing. I cried like a big sook but mum had 7 kids lol. Superwoman. Thanks mum I get your beautiful looks and great hair, kind and compassionate heart. I miss you every day that we are not together. I wish I was never adopted sometimes and stayed in the village with you. I do my best to be thankful for this life and my journey as devastating as it has mostly been…Friday after church I cried all the way home because I miss you…oh well…some things we’ll never know the answers too. All I know is I know I love you forever and all I long for is to hug you and cry on your shoulder and to sit next to you and talk about life. Happy mums day ❤️

Seek and you will find

Your convictions and beliefs determine the way you live your life…what do you believe in? Where do you go to find those life questions that burn inside of you, those questions about life, creation, our existence, purpose, happiness, fulfilment, life, death, is there a God?

Isn’t it interesting that many people “believe” in a God but they don’t want to find Him or look and when they discover Him they don’t want to know Him or have a relationship with a Him.

I’ve found that education has allowed me to critically think, ponder and research these deep questions…ever since I started my degree and now bible college I can’t stop asking questions, I can’t stop writing, researching and getting knowledge. Not just knowledge of God but of the world.

How else can we help others unless we have some kind of answer?

Matthew 7:7-8
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. For everyone that asks shall receive and he that seeks will find; and to him who knocks it will be opened.

Don’t wait until it’s too late or on your death bed to find the answers you’ve been looking for.

Life…

11_1.jpg

Well, I have not written in quite a few months. I’m not going to beat myself up about it. I lost my desire and passion to write, I got distracted by someone and invested a lot of emotional time with this person to the detriment of my own peace of mind. I had to make a very hard decision to let that person go.

I’m thankful for the experience and boy have I learnt a lot!

That happens sometimes, life takes over as we get lost in worldly cares.

I’m thankful that God was there as a source of help so that I cry out to and talk to and let him heal me.

So…here’s to a new season of re-discovering myself in a new way… during that time I was not writing and sharing on the blog, I experienced some highs and lows and have had mostly wonderful times and I hope to share about some of those experiences shortly.

Whatever life brings, don’t give up, let go and be thankful to God for your life and the things that you are blessed with right now, be thankful for the lessons.

Be blessed ~ Jonda

On Australia Day…

I understand that some may celebrate Australia Day and others do not. I have been in two minds and reflecting on this day. I would like to think that It is a day that brings the nation together in unity, however I am aware that the nation is divided as to whether Aus day is a day to be celebrated or not as it was the day that the british invaded this land.

I don’t make this post to offend anyone but only to personally honour the indigenous people of this nation and my indigenous friends and family.
I’d also like to honour the many friends and people in my life from across the world that have called Australia home.

I am so blessed to call Australia my home but I cannot help but be reminded of the cost of our freedom and the costs that was once payed to be able to live in this great nation. Yes it saddens me yet I must look to the future and what I can do as an individual, as a Christian, as a mother, as a leader, as a daughter, sister, friend and as a member of our community and society to help bring more unity, love and peace in my home, my family, in my church and in every sphere that I influence.

Why? Because I feel it’s my duty. I feel it’s everyone’s duty to work towards love and unity and peace.

I’ve been called a racist and a bigot from a christian pastor once when I posted a similar post on Aus day a few years back and I was deeply hurt by their words because this was someone that I respected highly. So if this post offends anyone then I’m sorry.

My hope for this post is to encourage others to just think more deeply about Aus day. That it also be a day that we spend with our loved ones and celebrate the freedom we have in this great southern land of The Holy Spirit.

I do hope that we also acknowledge the past and that although many of us were not directly involved in past events, we show compassion and love and acceptance to those who may still be affected. That we also pursue love towards our fellow brothers and sisters and that we promote peace, hope and unity towards those who are still suffering to this day.

Let’s also respect those who do not wish to celebrate Aus day.

Please think twice before you comment on this post and be mindful of others. This is not an opportunity to complain or enter into political and social debates that will bring tension and discourse.

Have a great long weekend, be safe on and off the roads. Remember that with one smile, one kind gesture, one hug, one hello and with one hand you can make a difference to someone’s life. You can be the light that they were searching for yet didn’t know it ~ Jonda

Tithing scriptures to encourage

Hey guys,

I know the word tithe can be a difficult word for people to accept, receive or even put into action so I came across this page with about 20 bible versus on tithing, most of which I never knew before or at least I never noticed them before.

https://echurch.com/20-bible-verses-about-tithing/

I hope it blesses you and encourages you to trust God and test Him at His word and see that He will not open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessings into your life so much that you will not be able to contain them.

I hope this blesses you ~ Jonda

Married, But…Still Interested?

I enjoyed reading this. For the married and the singles. Be blessed ❤

two hearts

Yep. Absolutely. I sure am!

I think a lot of people have the idea that once someone gets married, that person stops being concerned with singles’ affairs…and from what I’ve seen that seems to be the case. The exception? ME!!!!! (lol I’m sure I’m not the only one). I don’t think my friends would say that since I’ve gotten married I’ve changed or they don’t see or hear from me anymore. If you are one of my friends reading this and you disagree with this statement, this is the perfect time to call or text me so we can reconcile the situation (and I apologize in advance).

Some things have changed, but I don’t use being married as an excuse to be a crappy friend. Married or not, we’re ALL busy. My husband is my obvious priority (and he knows that), but my friends know that I still value their…

From the depths into the light

The pictures above explain how I feel right now!!!

A seed that’s been buried underground for so long, has broken through the dark and dirt to reach up towards the light and I’m learning to stand tall and be confident. I’m starting to show signs of sprouting, life, fruit, flowers etc. but it’s hard at this stage as I decide whether I’m going to keep pushing through or let go, die and wither.

God is challenging me by actually answering my prayers hahaha!!! I asked Him to show me purpose and my destiny and BAM!!! He gives it to me.

Just got off the phone with someone who has had a big impact in my life in the short space that I’ve known them and whom I highly respect and has personally offered to mentor me in business.

I’m so excited yet I know I have to push myself to do some hard work…starting by resurrecting the gifts of art and creativity which I buried and hid for so long…right now I’m rejoicing and crying at the same time hahaha.

I’m about to free fall into the world where dreams come true yet in the free fall I know God will catch me and guide me as I learn to be vulnerable, surrender and let go. Dreams are real but will they stay dreams or become our reality?!? I have heard that if your dreams don’t scare the heck out of you then baby you ain’t dreaming big enough!!! 2018 I’M READY for this!!!

Friends are you ready to not just dare to dream but to dare to make your dreams become a reality in 2018?

Be blessed! ~ Jonda

Natural health and wellbeing

Natural-Health

Recently I’ve made the decision to make a small investment in my health by purchasing some essential oils. I’ve been so excited to see and feel immediate results so I thought I’d share a little something.

I know that the change to go natural is what God intended and what benefits my body the most. God speaks in the beginning about what He was giving us when He created the earth in the first 7 days.

Genesis 1:29-30 New King James Version (NKJV)

29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.

So God tells us that He’s given us every green herb for food. Now obviously not everything that is green is able to be consumed or digested however I believe that all plant life has a purpose and many of the plant life that we see around us and across the globe have properties in them that are beneficial for food, medicine, health and wellbeing. So to me it’s a no brainer to go natural and to start steering away from the toxic chemicals that we have been conditioned to have in our lives plus it makes sense to me from a biblical stand point.

Genesis 9:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

3 “Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs.”

In Genesis 9:3, God was speaking to Noah after the flood and said to go into all the earth and multiply and be fruitful and again God mentions green herbs as well as animals to eat.

So much of our homes and environment has become so toxic, everything is substituted for cheap, fake and low budget alternatives made in labs and factories that do absolutely nothing for our wellbeing right down from our clothing, bedding, furniture, household goods that radiate electronic sound waves through the atmosphere to the very food that we put in our bodies.

So what can we do about this? We can educate ourselves about our bodies and natural therapies and medicine.

I in no way will discredit the pharmaceutical companies or the amazing benefits of modern medicine. There is a time and place for it and modern medicine and pharmaceutical drugs save lives. The down side is that we have developed a dependency on chemical drugs and doctors and lost the art of listening to our bodies and using our natural environment and natural alternatives to heal us.

I truly believe that a wise balance of natural and modern medicine is a great way to live.

I consider myself to be a mostly healthy, fit and happy individual. I praise God that I hardly have any illness or any problems with my health and do not take many pharmaceutical drugs.

The only drugs I take is the contraceptive pill to help moderate my menstrual cycle and to assist with excess bleeding and cramps and I thank God for those. However, I hope to one day come off of them and I hope to explore more natural and plant based treatment, I believe it’s possible.

Apart from that, I may take some pain killers when I’m menstruating or when I get back pain. Again, I’d like to explore more natural remedies.

My goal is to be healthy from the inside out spiritually, physically and emotionally.

Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 New King James Version (NKJV)

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body[a] and in your spirit, which are God’s.

I believe Jesus is coming back for a glorious bride. I also believe that God desires us to look after our bodies. We must be living examples of Christ, to represent Christ, the church, our families and God well.

The world must look at us and see that we are healthy spiritually and physically and we must look good.

At the end of the day, we must do what we feel is the best for our bodies.

Making changes can be challenging, however I feel that with the right research, study and advice, we can all make small changes to our routines and lifestyles to be more chemical and toxic free and eventually be happier and healthier so that we can do what God has called us to do.

This is why I’ve made the decision to make a progression into natural health and wellbeing.

If you’d like to learn more then I’d love to share with you about what I’ve discovered with using natural essential oils.

So below is a picture I took earlier this morning of this new delicious drink I have come across. It’s basically warm water (make sure it’s not boiling hot or it will disturb the properties of the oils) with a teaspoon of honey and 1 drop each of lemon and frankincense oil. It’s so delicious, add more honey for flavour, or you can just enjoy the honey with lemon only or frankincense only. A little goes a very long way!!! 1 drop is more than enough. Add more honey if you’re a sweetie 😉

On worship

Around Christmas time I went to a pastor friend and his wife’s house for dinner and fellowship. It was really beautiful having a bunch of friends from different churches come together and just be together. I however was exhausted with all the buzz in leading up to Christmas that I slipped away into the study which had been temporarily transformed into a games room for the teenage boys.

Like I do in people’s homes, I gravitated towards the bookshelf and was captivated by the row of books on the shelf. I just love books, I wish that I could inhale their essence and everything that was in them without reading them. There are so many great books.

Naturally as a worship leader, I was led towards the book called Worship Matters by Bob Kauflin. I read a couple of pages then closed it on my way out and left it on the shelf as it was dinner time. Two weeks ago when I went back to my friends house, I asked If I could borrow the book and I’ve been enjoying reading it.

It’s a wonderful book for all leaders but particularly worship leaders. The main theme that runs through the book obviously  is why we worship, who are we worshipping and the purpose of worship. Short answer yet so profound is Jesus. Jesus, King over all. King over all kings, Messiah, Redeemer, Deliverer, Healer, High Priest…..there is so much more to describe Jesus but words do no justice.

So I ask you this…why do you worship?

http://worshipmatters.wpengine.com/2005/11/04/defining-worship/

For me, I started worship because it is what we did in Church, long before I fully understood what it meant to worship and lead others into worship with the King. It wasn’t until last year in 2017 that I finally started to understand who I worshipped and why and that I was born a worship leader, I was made in His image, I was born to worship God, I was born to worship Jesus. It is the utmost joy to lead others into a deep presence of worship and in order for me to do so, I must lay my life down for Jesus for who He is and what He has done for me. I owe Him everything, I owe HIM my life, every part of me.

In 2018, who and what will you worship? Jesus is the reason for the breath in our lungs. His relationship and union with The Father and Holy Spirit allow us to have an incredible relationship and abundance of life on earth until His return. Let’s make the most of our time here on earth for He is looking for those who will worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth – English standard version).

Blessings ~ Jonda
